POPSUGAR’s ApIA destination: We belong here

I co-led and launched POPSUGAR’s first-ever Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) destination in May 2021. The hub featured a selection of personal essays, interviews, and stories celebrating the community’s successes and unpacking the complex issues APIA face. I curated and edited key impact features for the destination, including 17 Social Media Stars Amplifying APIA Experiences and 15 Rising APIA Stars Talk Identity, Solidarity, and Unapologetically Taking Up Space. While the term AAPI has traditionally been used to represent the community, read why we consciously and carefully chose the acronym APIA over AAPI here.
